This will allow you to see who your competition is, whether or not the market is too broad or too saturated, and what you will have to do in order to sell what you want properly.

Some products are not worth selling if everyone else is selling them too. You will simply be another person in an over done market and this will not make you a profit.

If your online business is too broad and not many people are into what you have to offer, then you will not have enough of a market to have a continuous product flow. You need to choose something that people all over are interested in, but are not so common that it flops the first day out.

You will want to consider shipping, distribution, storage, and how you plan to deliver your product to your consumer. This will determine how much you have to charge to make it worth your wild.
